Twenty years, nineteen finished seasons, and 22 PBB Big Winners. Since Pinoy Big Brother started on August 21, 2005, around 450 housemates have entered the house, and only a handful walked out with the title. Here are all the PBB Big Winners, season by season, with my quick take on each.
A quick note before we start: the facts here (names, seasons, years) come from the show’s record as summarized on Wikipedia. The takes are mine. Opinion lang, walang away.

PBB Big Winners from the main seasons
Season 1 (2005): Nene Tamayo
The very first Big Winner. Season 1 ran from August to December 2005, with 13 housemates and Willie Revillame as the eviction host for that season only.
Everything PBB is today started here. Nene winning the first season set the tone: hindi kailangang pinaka-maingay para manalo.
Season 2 (2007): Bea Saw
Season 2 ran from February to June 2007. Bea later hosted the Update show during Celebrity Edition 2.
I love that a Big Winner went back to the show to work on it. Ganyan ka-attached ang mga housemate sa bahay.
Double Up (2009 to 2010): Melai Cantiveros
The season with two houses. Melai won it, and years later she joined the show’s hosting team starting with Otso. She’s still a host in Collab 3.0.
Melai is the best proof that PBB can change a life. From housemate to Big Winner to “Pamilya ni Kuya.” Wala nang mas PBB pa diyan.
Unlimited (2011 to 2012): Slater Young
Unlimited had three separate houses and 37 housemates. Slater won, and he was later introduced as one of the hosts for All In.
All In (2014): Daniel Matsunaga
All In was the first season to mix teens, adults and celebrities. Daniel was the first Philippine celebrity housemate with no Filipino blood.
All In basically invented the idea that made Collab 3.0 possible: different kinds of housemates in one game.
737 (2015): Jimboy Martin and Miho Nishida
The first season with two editions running back to back, so it had two Big Winners: Jimboy for the teens and Miho for the adults.
Lucky 7 (2016 to 2017): Maymay Entrata
Lucky 7 had four batches of housemates over 235 days. Maymay won it, and she showed up again in the Collab 3.0 launch night performance.
Seeing Maymay on launch night felt like a “full circle” moment. She’s the kind of Big Winner new housemates look up to.
Otso (2018 to 2019): Yamyam Gucong
Otso was the longest season of PBB, with five batches and the most housemates overall. Yamyam outlasted all of them.
Connect (2020 to 2021): Liofer Pinatacan
Connect was the first season not to air on ABS-CBN after the network’s shutdown, and the first with fully online auditions. Liofer won after 99 days.
Connect was the season that kept PBB alive during the pandemic. Hindi siya madali, and I’ll always respect it for that.
Kumunity Season 10 (2021 to 2022): Anji Salvacion
Season 10 had celebrity, teen and adult batches over 226 days. Anji won the whole thing.
Gen 11 (2024): Fyang Smith
Gen 11 was the first season to feature all-female finalists. Fyang was crowned Big Winner on October 26, 2024.
Celebrity editions
Celebrity Edition 1 (2006): Keanna Reeves
The first celebrity edition, with 14 housemates. Fun fact: the third placer that season was Bianca Gonzalez, who’s now the show’s main host.
Keanna’s win still comes up every time fans talk about the early seasons. And I’ll never get over Bianca going from housemate to host.
Celebrity Edition 2 (2007 to 2008): Ruben Gonzaga
Celebrity Edition 2 ran from October 2007 to January 2008 with 16 housemates. Ruben took the title.
Celebrity Collab Edition (2025): Brent Manalo and Mika Salamanca
The first Collab season, and the first time two housemates won together as a duo. It ran from March to July 2025.
The duo win was risky. Pero it made sense: the whole season was about pairs. Ending it any other way would’ve felt wrong.
Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0 (2025 to 2026): Caprice Cayetano and Lella Ford
A teen celebrity season with two Big Winners, one from each side: Caprice for Kapuso and Lella for Kapamilya. Both came back to perform on Collab 3.0’s launch night.
Teen editions
Teen Edition 1 (2006): Kim Chiu
The first teen edition. Kim later became a PBB host herself, starting with Otso.
Kim Chiu is the blueprint. Teen Big Winner, then one of the biggest stars of her generation, then host. Sobrang solid.
Teen Edition Plus (2008): Ejay Falcon
The runner-up that season was Robi Domingo, who went on to become one of the show’s longtime hosts.
Teen Clash 2010: James Reid
Teen Clash 2010 was the first season with non-Filipino teen housemates, and James was the show’s first Big Winner who isn’t a Filipino citizen.
Teen Edition 4 (2012): Myrtle Sarrosa
The longest teen season so far. Myrtle won over a final group that included the twins Joj and Jai Agpangan.

What the PBB Big Winners have in common
Looking at all 22 PBB Big Winners, I don’t see one “type.” There are comedians and quiet people, celebrities and total unknowns, teens and adults. What I do notice is that viewers tend to reward housemates who stay themselves through the whole season, even when it’s not flattering. That’s a big reason I’m watching the Collab 3.0 housemates so closely. You can catch up on each of them in our Housemates hub.
Sino kaya ang susunod? It’s way too early to call, but if you ask me, the housemate who wins Collab 3.0 is the one who’s still the same person on Day 90 as they were on Day 1.
