PBB Collab Edition Explained: How Collab 3.0 Works

PBB Collab 3.0 at a glance: 16 housemates, 8 Kapuso and 8 Kapamilya, 7 hosts

November 8 update: Robbie is a celebrity house guest

As of November 8, 2026, 5 PM Manila: The official ABS-CBN livestream revealed that Robbie Jaworski is a celebrity house guest, not an official housemate. Kuya told him this on his first night and asked him to keep it secret. As Kuya’s Ka-Collab, he started the Big Charity Mission and has raised ₱25,000 for charity: ₱10,000 from the first secret task plus ₱15,000 from the second.

The hosts said the other housemates do not yet know his status. Any nomination votes cast for Robbie will not count. The clip does not reveal the nominee list or when the housemates will learn the truth. Nominees remain pending in this update. This is a status clarification, not an eviction announcement.

If you’re only now catching up on PBB Collab Edition, I get it. Three seasons in under two years, two networks, a new house, and a format that keeps changing just when you think you’ve figured it out. So here’s my attempt at explaining the whole thing the way I’d explain it to a tita who just asked, “Teka, bakit may Kapuso sa PBB?”

Short version: the PBB Collab Edition is the Pinoy Big Brother season where ABS-CBN, which owns the show, works with GMA Network, which airs it. Kapamilya and Kapuso housemates live under one roof. That alone would have sounded impossible ten years ago.

What the PBB Collab Edition actually is

Pinoy Big Brother is still an ABS-CBN show. ABS-CBN Studios produces it and holds the Philippine franchise. What changed in 2025 is the partner. Since March 9, 2025, PBB has aired on GMA Network, and the Collab seasons are co-produced with GMA. According to Wikipedia’s summary of the show’s history, it’s the first joint reality show between the two networks.

The “collab” part isn’t just about who airs it. It’s inside the house too. Housemates are split into a Kapuso side and a Kapamilya side, and the hosting team is a mix of familiar PBB faces and GMA stars.

Honestly, the first time I saw a Sparkle artist walk into Bahay ni Kuya, parang may glitch sa Matrix. Pero ngayon? Normal na. That’s how fast this format won people over.

The three PBB Collab Edition seasons so far

Collab 1: Celebrity Collab Edition (2025)

The first one ran from March 9 to July 5, 2025, with 20 celebrity housemates from Star Magic and Sparkle. Its big twist was the duo system: one Kapuso and one Kapamilya housemate were paired and went through tasks, nominations and evictions together, with pairings shuffled along the way. It ended with a duo Big Win for Brent Manalo and Mika Salamanca.

Collab 2.0: Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0 (2025 to 2026)

The second season premiered on October 25, 2025, and ended on February 28, 2026. This time, all the housemates were teen celebrities, and instead of duos, they played in groups. There were two Big Winners, one from each side: Caprice Cayetano for Kapuso and Lella Ford for Kapamilya. Luis Manzano also came back to host after 17 years.

Collab 3.0: the current season (2026)

Collab 3.0 premiered on October 24, 2026. It’s the twelfth main season of PBB and the third Collab season. The big change: for the first time, it mixes regular housemates, people who joined the online auditions, with celebrities who were invited to audition. Auditions were open from August 14 to 31, 2026, for applicants aged 18 to 35.

This is the part I’m most excited about. Celebrity seasons are fun, pero iba talaga ang kilig kapag may ordinaryong Pinoy na walang PR team. You can’t fake a factory worker from Japan being starstruck on night one.

How Collab 3.0 works

Sixteen housemates entered on launch night, split into eight Kapuso and eight Kapamilya. GMA also said more housemates will come in over the next few weeks, so the number will change.

The Kapuso side: Anthony Constantino, Bela Arcal, Ethan Benares, Lans Nagal, Mikee Quintos, Nicole Fortuna, Raheel Bhyria and Winwyn Marquez.

The Kapamilya side: Calix Esguerra, Cianne Dominguez, Gehlee Dangca, Jeo Ong, Nathan Garcia, Primo Alterado, Robbie Jaworski and Shea Valerio.

One thing that trips people up: for the regular housemates, “Kapuso” and “Kapamilya” are just team names. They aren’t talents of either network. Bela isn’t a Sparkle artist just because she’s on the Kapuso side. If you want the full rundown of everyone, the Housemates hub has a profile for each of them.

The Ka-Collab ni Kuya twist

On launch night, the show announced that one Kapuso and one Kapamilya housemate would secretly work as Kuya’s collaborators. They turned out to be Robbie and Mikee, and their job is to quietly push the season’s Big Collab Charity Mission forward through secret tasks. I followed the whole thing from Robbie’s reveal to the English rap that brought them together.

Ito ang twist na pinaka-gusto ko so far. It turns the first week into a spy movie, and it gives the quieter housemates something to do besides cook and cry in the confession room.

A brand-new house

Collab 3.0 is the first season in a new Big Brother house. The original house on Eugenio Lopez Drive in Quezon City was taken down after Collab 2.0, and the new house uses the Gina Lopez Building, the home of ABS-CBN Foundation, as its façade. I wrote a whole house tour post if you want to see what’s inside.

Who hosts Collab 3.0

The “Pamilya ni Kuya” this season is Bianca Gonzalez, Robi Domingo, Melai Cantiveros, Enchong Dee, Alexa Ilacad and Gabbi Garcia, plus a new addition: Michael Sager, a Collab 1 housemate and Sparkle artist. Kim Chiu is not part of the hosting team this season.

Michael going from housemate to host in one year is such a PBB story. Sana lang hindi siya ma-starstruck sa sarili niyang dating bahay.

Where and when to watch

According to GMA, Collab 3.0 airs on GMA Prime at these times (Philippine time):

  • Weeknights at 9:35 p.m.
  • Saturdays at 6:15 p.m.
  • Sundays at 4:55 p.m.

ABS-CBN says it also streams on the ABS-CBN Entertainment YouTube channel, iWant and Kapuso Stream, with a delayed telecast on Kapamilya Online Live later in the evening. The exact delayed times have been listed a little differently by different sources, so check Kapamilya Online Live’s own schedule before you rely on it.

For the hardcore fans, there’s the All-Access Livestream on iWant every day from 8 a.m. to midnight. And every Saturday, Alexa and Michael host the online companion show The OnlineVerse.

My honest tip: watch the full episode first, then the livestream. The livestream is fun, but without context, a five-minute kitchen chika can look like a war. Ask me how I know.

Why the PBB Collab Edition works, at least for me

I’ve watched PBB long enough to remember when a Kapuso star in the house was unthinkable. What the PBB Collab Edition proved is that viewers care more about the people than the network logo. The duos in Collab 1 gave us pairs we still talk about. Collab 2.0 gave us teens who grew up in front of us. And Collab 3.0 is testing something new: can celebrities and regular Pinoys play the same game on equal footing?

Seven days in, my answer is “so far, yes.” The celebrities aren’t hiding behind their fame, and the regulars aren’t shrinking. You can see it in the first weekly task, where the work got split by who’s good at what, not by who’s famous.

Ikaw, ano ang take mo sa mixed format? Tell me in the comments. And if you’re new here, start with the Housemates hub and our first-night recap.
