It’s only the first task, and there’s already a violation. That was Day 2 of PBB Collab 3.0, and honestly, this is the segment I rewound the most.
The mechanics (simple but hard)
Kuya called the housemates to the living room (23:14) for a Filipino tradition as a welcome. The big coins thrown at them when they came in symbolize grace and luck. The challenge:
- Two groups, eight members each.
- Move and stack the big coins in the assigned area of the task room.
- Only their feet can be used to lift and move them.
- If a coin falls, they stop and redo the lift.
- Just 30 minutes.
- Every coin moved is worth food straight from their own homes.
That last detail is what leveled up the task for me. It’s not just food, it’s home cooking from their families. So when they saw spaghetti, bangus and adobo written on the coins (27:26), the excitement was different. “Let’s prioritize the adobo!” Pinoy na Pinoy.
Split by height, ended up boys vs girls

The planning started with splitting by height (25:11). But in the end it turned into boys vs girls anyway, and Primo got moved to even out the numbers. Someone even yelled “Being short is hard!”, which is so relatable for me.
The two strategies
For the girls, the idea was to position themselves like crabs, form a circle, and raise their feet instead of carrying the coin.
Nathan had a different plan (26:32): pass the coin from one person to the next while crawling. Someone also said it’s better to see the coin first before deciding. Good advice, because it turned out to be rubber and kind of heavy.
The violation: “Boys, you’re doing it wrong”
When the buzzer sounded, the boys were fast. Too fast. Even Gabbi in the narration said, “Boys, aren’t you supposed to be lifting the coin together? That’s wrong!” Kuya himself spoke up (28:14): they were doing it wrong, put the coins back.
Then there was more confusion. The girls noticed one of their coins was missing (29:16). “You removed our coin from here!” “Why would we do that?” The footage doesn’t make it clear who was really at fault, but it got returned. Robbie was also seen carrying a coin, and Gabbi asked where he was taking it. Chaos.
Kuya’s heaviest call

At 30:17, Kuya addressed everyone again. The task was about helping each other, but he saw some people just standing around while their groupmates did the work. “I’m talking about you, boys.” So they’d lose one coin they had already moved. The one taken away: the Bicol express.
One of the boys even said, “I think it’s me.” I can’t tell from the footage who said that, but respect for owning it.
The comeback

The good thing is they learned. Primo suggested having just one person chant so everyone moves at the same time (31:07), and on the next turn, the whole group went “One, two. One, two.” Lay the coin flat, they said. Suddenly everything was smooth. The girls got faster too: “Let’s use all of our feet.”
At the end (33:06), Kuya congratulated them: they moved all the big coins, so they passed the first task and their “first gathering.” “That’s what you call teamwork!”
My take
- The girls were the MVPs of the first half. They had a system earlier, and they were the ones who noticed the missing coin.
- The boys’ violation isn’t a failure, it’s a wake-up call. I’d actually rather it happened on Day 2 than during a weekly task with the budget on the line.
- Primo is the quiet leader. His “wait, keep calm, just take it slowly” is what turned things around for the boys.
It’s not nominations yet, but tasks like this are where the “who didn’t help” talk starts in the confession room. Let’s see if anything like that comes up in the next few days.
Which of the boys do you think Kuya meant by “just standing around”? Let’s talk in the comments.
Our analysis: what the first task revealed
The task was short, but it said a lot about the house dynamics.
Leadership: who really led?
There was no assigned leader, so it naturally came out who makes the decisions. On the boys’ side, Primo calmed everyone down (“wait, keep calm”). On the girls’ side, the plan was collective and they agreed faster. If there’s a weekly task where the housemates pick their own leader, the ones we saw organizing here already have an edge.
Nomination watch
Kuya’s heaviest line: some people were just standing around while others worked. No names were given, but in PBB, this kind of observation often shows up in the first nomination reasons: “didn’t help much in the task.” We think the boys who barely showed up in the footage have the highest risk once nominations start. That’s just our guess, and it can still change within a week.
Compared to other seasons
A first “bonding” task is almost a PBB tradition. What’s different here is there was a violation right on Day 2. We think that’s actually good for the boys. They learned early, they adjusted early. The question: will the girls still remember this when nominations come?
Our rating
- Girls’ teamwork: 4/5
- Boys’ teamwork (before the violation): 2/5
- Boys’ teamwork (after the violation): 4/5
- Entertainment value: 5/5, because of the missing coin
Poll
*Were the boys or the girls better in the first task?* Our vote: girls, but the boys had the best comeback.
