Day 12 of PBB Collab Edition 3.0 brought the second weekly task, and it’s a fun one. The Verti Drama weekly task asks the housemates to stage a live vertical drama, the short, phone-shaped series everyone scrolls through. Here’s how the task works, who leads it, and how Primo and Bela ended up as the stars. Timestamps are from the official full episode on YouTube.
The leaders: Calix and Winwyn (1:56)
Kuya called Calix and Winwyn to the confession room and asked if they watch TV and movies. Calix likes horror and action. Winwyn likes romcoms, especially 90s classics. Then Kuya told them they would lead the second weekly task.

Pairing a horror-and-action fan with a romcom lover feels intentional. Between them, they cover almost every genre a vertical drama could use.
After his rough Day 11, giving Calix a leadership role is a big vote of confidence. We were curious how he’d handle it.
How the Verti Drama works (2:47)
The task letter explained it. A vertical drama is a short series made in portrait format, meant to be watched on a smartphone. The twist: the housemates’ version is live, staged inside a literal giant vertical frame with very limited space. To pass, every housemate needs a scene, all of them must appear in the frame at the same time on three separate occasions, the show must run 25 minutes, and they need to reach a target number of views that they’ll learn in the coming days.
Twenty-five minutes, live, in a tall narrow frame. That’s a blocking nightmare and a comedy goldmine at the same time.
Most vertical dramas online run a minute or two per episode. Stretching that format to 25 minutes live means the house needs a real story, not just skits.
The “everyone in frame three times” rule is the sneaky hard part. Fitting the whole house into a phone-shaped box will take real planning.
Picking a genre (4:07)
The house brainstormed comedy, action and romcom. They landed on a romcom with action. When the leaders told Kuya, they said a romcom needs a female lead and a male lead. Kuya’s answer: hold auditions. The leaders became casting directors and wrote a short dialogue for a guy and a girl.
A romcom with action is very Filipino teleserye energy. We approve.
It also plays to the house’s strengths. There are natural comedians in there, and the kilig screams in the living room proved the romance side will land.
Making the leaders the casting directors was smart. It forced them to judge chemistry, not just friendship.
The screen tests (8:16)
The leaders picked pairs, Raheel and Mikee, Nathan and Bela, Jeo and Shea, Ethan and Gehlee, Jeo and Gehlee, Calix and Gehlee, and Primo and Bela. Without knowing it, each pair was being watched by the rest of the house from the living room. Raheel and Mikee went first, and the watching housemates said they set the bar high.

The house watching from the living room is the best part. Every “gusto kita” line got screams. It felt like a live fan meet.
It also kept the auditions honest. Knowing the whole house is watching would have made everyone stiffer. Not knowing let the chemistry show.
Raheel and Mikee going first and nailing it put real pressure on everyone after them. Opening acts don’t usually get that much praise.
Primo and Bela win the leads (16:39)
The top three pairs were Primo and Bela, Jeo and Shea, and Jeo and Gehlee. The leaders explained why they liked Primo and Bela: interesting individuals who could make you laugh, cry, and ad-lib if something goes wrong. The house voted, and Primo and Bela got the roles. Bela said that even if the others were just teasing, she knew they trusted her and Primo, so they’d do their best. Primo said it felt like his first acting role.

Bela’s reaction was so honest. She didn’t expect to be included at all, then ended up as the lead. That’s a great arc in one episode.
Primo going from a hard Day 11 to leading man on Day 12 is a nice turn. He looked genuinely thrilled.
The ability to ad-lib is the right reason to pick leads for a live show. Something will go wrong. You want people who can roll with it.
Our take on the Verti Drama weekly task
This task tests creativity, teamwork and nerve. A live show has no retakes, and the frame leaves nowhere to hide.
It also comes with a lesson the house learned right away during the screen tests: in acting, you always agree on boundaries first. We wrote about that separately.
We’re excited to see the full drama. If the house finds its rhythm, this could be one of the most fun tasks of the season.
